Weed Tourism When There is no Tourism to Pot farms in California’s Emerald Triangle

Creating a virtual cannasseur experience visiting the pot farms of California’s Emerald Triangle on the web

To say 2020 isn’t what we expected would be a monumental understatement.  We were getting ready for the first really big season of weed tours fro San Francisco to the pot farms in California’s Emerald Triangle. We had a solid year of well received 420 tours under our belt. We got our beautiful trifold brochures from the printer, ready to distribute to every tourist kiosk and cannasseur in the San Francisco Bay Area, as we readied ourselves for the flood of world travelers who were now finally aware that they can go imbibing on weed tours just as they go imbibing on wine tours.

As soon as the news came out about the corona virus breakout on the Diamond Princess we realized that travel and tourism were going to be the first industry destroyed by the fallout from the global pandemic, and probably the last to recover.

Instead of meeting new people and taking them on cannasseur adventures, we found ourselves like so many others, sheltering in place to keep from spreading the virus.

Some people are essential to keep our vital services open.  Others are able to keep doing their jobs by telecommuting. We’re definitely not essential, and telecommuting just isn’t an option for weed tour guides.

First our thoughts went to our loved ones, then to our survival.  It’s hard to hear that the best thing you can do to help is just stay home.

Thankfully, the malaise was eased by the likes of Seth Myers, Steven Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and even Saturday Night Live webcasting their shows from lockdown in their homes.  I started learning chemistry through Crash Course on YouTube. Thank goodness for education and entertainment on the internet! I don’t know what I’d do without the respite they offer.  I’m finding escapism is as essential to the mind as food is to the body.

Then it dawned on me that I was thinking about weed tourism all wrong!  We are essential, and we can telecommute! We educate and entertain people!  We have internet access, and cell phones with cameras on them, and video clips from our weed tours!

I downloaded a free video editing app called Vlogit, propped up my cell phone on a table in the backyard, and started shooting video.  If we can’t bring the world to Mendocino farms in The Emerald Triangle, we’ll bring Mendocino farms in The Emerald Triangle to the world!

So are you, like we are, stuck at home?  Escape with us to the farms and grows of cannabis country on YouTube and Instagram!   Follow us, like us, and subscribe!

We’ll do our best to keep you entertained, educated, and occupied until the day we can go smell the flowers in the warm Mendocino sun together once again.  The imbibing till then is up to you.
